Days of Rush – K2 is a tough one to get ready for
13. 10. 2015Working like a mule since last fall, dutifully getting into shape, sending out heads-up to sponsors, consoling my family: “It’s gonna be alright. You need to consider the statistics of success with philosophical insight of Beavis and Butthead.” Not to worry, I’ll be reasonable. I know my limits – I’ve been around for a while, you know, and besides I am a woman, thus lacking an overblown ego. I love to live; I have two beautiful kids and a fabulous husband: the best incentive for me to bring it all to a happy ending.
I’ve fine-tuned the logistics of my “maternal working week” to a near-perfect mode of operation. My family is running like clockwork; I’m handling it all: doing my errands, managing stuff that needs to be arranged for – as well as doubling up my training indoors and outdoors alike. I don’t neglect social events – or manicure – either. It wouldn’t cross my mind to go and do my weight-lifting without first doing my nail polish. I should’ve confessed straight off: if you think I am a superwoman, I am not – the loving grandmas & great-grandma are always there on stand-by, in order to make up for everything I can’t handle myself – supervised, of course, by my beloved “pop”. Fantastic teamwork, already amidst a practice run toward the main overhaul – the farewell kiss at the airport.
