The trek
19. 6. 2016Our second day on the K2 Base Camp Trek is drawing to a close. We’ve covered about one third of the distance – some 40 kilometers – with another 80 kilometers to go. As to the weather, we’re lucky … or should I say it’s hot as hell during the day, around 35 centigrade, with tons of dust all around. Anyway. We’re about to reach the Baltoro glacier tomorrow. We’re setting our alarms at 4 a.m. so that we can hit the trek around five, ready to face what is said to be the toughest part of it. Besides our expedition there’s yet another one, an international team of 7, not to speak of 300 Pakistani porters. OK, that much for now. To be continued when we get to the base camp!
