Up on the Hill at Long Last!
3. 7. 2016Friday finds us in C2 (6,700 m ASL), exactly as planned. Photos from the strenuous ascend look idyllic and full of sunshine; what they don’t show, though, is my frostbitten face and fingers. The weather has taken a turn for the worse, wind tends to be fierce, you can go neither up nor down. On Saturday we remain trapped in tents, impatiently waiting for the Sunday descent to BC.
Back in C1, the expedition came to an end for Mark from the U.K. who barely limped back to BC with a sore knee, escorted by Petr, the mountaineering novice, who has neither the permit nor the insurance for higher camps anyway.
